CalWORKs Counseling & Pre-Vocational Services

The RAMS CalWORKs Counseling & Pre-Vocational Services provides culturally competent, short-term outpatient behavioral health counseling and psycho-educational soft skills training & coaching to participants of the San Francisco Department of Human Services (DHS) California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids Program (CalWORKs), the county’s welfare-to-work program serving families with dependent children. The RAMS CalWORKs program aims to increase the family’s capacity for self-sufficiency by offering time-limited interventions and support to reduce and/or overcome identified barriers to employment.

Counseling Services include, but are not limited to:

  • Individual, Group and Family Counseling
  • Case Management
  • Assessment & Crisis Intervention
  • Learning Needs Assessment
  • Psychiatric Evaluation and Medication Management
  • Psycho-education
  • Consultation and Outreach

Pre-Vocational Services, a collaboration with the Workforce Development Department (WDD), includes a psycho-educational soft skills training & coaching designed to equip clients with skills/abilities/attitudes relevant to obtaining and retaining employment.

All services are limited to CalWORKs participants.
