Summer Mei Ling Lee, MFA

CHAIR

Summer Mei Ling Lee began her career doing direct services, grant reporting, and strategic planning at Asian Women’s Shelter. There she co-authored two federal reports on grass-roots strategies to address relationship violence in the queer Asian community. From there, she studied community mental health in grad school, working with men experiencing severe mental illness in prison. Afterwards, she served as an intern for Senator Dianne Feinstein. She then pursued her passion and received her MFA in 2011 and since then has exhibited art locally, nationally, and internationally. Her work has been collected into private and public collections throughout the world. She recently co-founded a local organization for environmental protection and promoting truly affordable housing. She also serves on the board of the Sanchez Art Center and the Institute for Clinical Social Work. She is a proud mom of two boys.
