In recognition of Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage and Mental Health Awareness Month, RAMS hosted the AAPI Maternal Mental Health Convening on May 8, 2026.
Honoring AAPI Mental Health Day falling on Mother’s Day this year, the event brought together community providers who support mothers and those interested in uplifting AAPI maternal mental health to learn effective tools and ways to positively impact policy.

Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Mental Health Day: May recognizes AAPI Heritage and Mental Health Awareness Month. In 2010, RAMS spearheaded the first state, county, and city proclamation efforts to establish May 10 as APA Mental Health Day (now referred to as AAPI or AANHPI Mental Health Day) in California and the City and County of San Francisco. Today, May 10 continues to raise awareness and highlight the need for culturally responsive, community-centered, in-language care.
