Dr. Evelyn Lee Diversity & Cultural Competency Training: Queerness in Context: Clinical Approaches to Supporting AAPI LGBTQ+ Youth

On March 5, 2025 RAMS held a well attended Dr. Evelyn Lee Diversity & Cultural Competency Training: Queerness in Context: Clinical Approaches to Supporting AAPI LGBTQ+ Youth. The program was designed to highlight essential resources and clinical support for Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) LGBTQ+ youth.

Presenters Michael Liao (Director of Programs at NICOS Chinese Health Coalition), Neo Veavea (RAMS Peer Counselor, Department of Public Health), and madhvi trivedi-pathak (Core Committee Member at Lavender Phoenix) shared inspiring stories and sparking meaningful conversations.

Attendees gained valuable insights into culturally relevant care, community-building efforts, and strategies to support AAPI LGBTQ+ youth in navigating their identities within diverse cultural contexts. One attendee shared, “Great presenters with moving presentations and sharing of their lived experience.” Another shared that the “Presenters were amazing. I could’ve done this all day. Thank you!”
