Every parent deserves the opportunity to provide stability for their family. Too many parents face compounding challenges from poverty, domestic violence, and behavioral health issues without support. In response to these complex needs, RAMS began serving CalWORKs clients who are participants of the welfare-to-work program and also support dependents. By participating in behavioral health services and soft-skills workshops, clients build the social and emotional skills necessary to become work-ready or more prepared to pursue higher education.
– County Adult Assistance Program (CAAP)
Many participants in San Francisco’s CAAP program for adults without dependents face challenges that affect their ability to work. Compounding factors include poverty, lack of opportunity, mental health, and substance use. With support and guidance, paving the road towards well-being and recovery can be possible. Each year, RAMS CAAP Counseling and Pre-Vocational Services (RAMS CAAP) provides thousands of CAAP participants with mental health and vocational assessment, support, and resources.
