Workshop Offerings
Coming Ashore: Understanding Mental Health of Pacific Islanders
Does your organization work with Pacific Islanders? In this workshop, we will share cultural concepts and practices that support engagement with Pacific Islander populations. Increase your knowledge of who Pacific Islanders are, where they come from and the values that support their mental health.
Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a program of the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. MHFA is a skills based training course that teaches participants to identify, understand and respond to mental health and substance use challenges. Adult MHFA courses teach adult learners how to assist fellow adults, while Youth MHFA courses teach adult learners how to assist adolescents between the ages of 12 and 18.
Engagement with your Unhoused Neighbors
Have you ever wondered how to compassionately respond to our unhoused neighbors on the street or in front of your business/ organization? We will share skills and resources the lay person can use when encountering the unhoused or those experiencing a mental health or substance use issue.
De-escalation in Community Mental Health
An introduction to verbal de-escalation practices including the role of self management in the prevention of conflict.
Boundaries in Community Mental Health
In Community Mental Health boundaries are important and sometimes blurred. In this workshop, explore and clarify the significance of boundaries with clients, colleagues and ourselves.
Healing for Asians
Working hand and hand with The Lotus Project, our Healing for Asians staff can provide technical assistance and resources to organizations regarding the implementation of culturally competent and evidence-based interventions and promising practices to reduce immediate distress from exposure to traumatic events. Workshops available in Cantonese and Mandarin.
Integration of Specialty Mental Health and Peer Counseling
At the forefront of the peer provider profession, RAMS offers peer counseling, outreach, and education & training in about 30 sites throughout San Francisco. Our staff can provide technical assistance for implementing strengths based, wellness and recovery Peer Based Services to complement Specialty Mental Health Services.

RAMS is approved by the CPA OPD and Board of Behavioral Sciences to sponsor continuing professional education for psychologists, marriage & family therapists, licensed clinical social workers, and licensed professional clinical counselors in California. RAMS maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
