RAMS Leadership Joins White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (WHIAANHPI) Mental Health Convening

 

Last Wednesday, July 24th, RAMS’ CEO & President Angela Tang and Director of Community Engagement Natalie Tualemoso Ah Soon were invited to participate in a roundtable discussion at the White House AA and NHPI Mental Health Convening in Washington, DC.

This noteworthy event brought together representatives from the White House, the US Department of Health & Human Services, and Asian American & Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community leaders from across the nation. Alongside with esteemed AANHPI community representatives, Angela and Natalie had the opportunity to share information about the unique barriers that AANHPI communities face while accessing behavioral health services. They also shared strategies to promote culturally and linguistically competent practices, to better serve the AANHPI communities.

The convening highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing mental health disparities and emphasized the critical role of culturally informed approaches in providing effective support.
